FDR Media Group Inc. Signs Major Film Library Acquisition Deal With Eros International
TORONTO, ONTARIO–(August 30, 2011) FDR Media Group Inc., a subsidiary of Knightscove Media Corp. (TSX VENTURE:KC.A)(TSX VENTURE:KC.B) (www.knightscove.com), today announced that it had signed a deal with Eros International, the leading global company for Indian filmed entertainment, to showcase hundreds of blockbuster Hindi films on its high definition channels Mehndi TV and Bollywood Times.
Mehndi TV is a channel focused on showcasing intelligent programming that caters to Canadian women of South Asian heritage. Bollywood Times is an all-action all-the-time channel. Both Mehndi TV and Bollywood Times would be the first South Asian HD channels in North America. The channels are preparing for a nationwide launch in October 2011 via major cable and satellite distributors.
Under the multi-film content licensing deal, FDR Media Group would showcase such films as Daabang, Omkara, Rockstar, Anjaana Anjaani and other yet to be released films.
“We believe the Eros Group has the most exciting Bollywood library available and we are delighted to have acquired broadcasting rights for some of their best,” FDR Media Group CEO Ron Maitra said. “This will be the first time that viewers in Canada will be able to see such brilliant films on a HD platform in vibrant colors and brilliant sound.”
FDR Media Group is the first company in North America to acquire such a large library to showcase on its high definition channels from Eros International.
